Abstract

A sample of 37 examinees of which are 21 fi rst year students of Criminal-Police Aca demy (in further text KPA) from Belgrade and 16 categorized sportsmen-karatists were diagnosed on their motor abilities in order to state some possible differences between the se groups.Their motor abilities were estimated with a set of 6 tests. The given results were analysed from the aspect of absolute and relative values. The data were processed by applying the descriptive statistics. It was stated that there were general differences in va riability between pairs of groups using the ANOVA, while the Student’s t-test was used for stating partial differences between pairs of variables. ANOVA showed that between absolute values of motor abilities on general level the re is a statistically important difference, F=520.779, p= 0.000.On a partial level asta ti stically important difference for variables FmaxIZOHAND (t= 1.824, p= 0.038), FmaxIZOBACKS (t= 1.852, p= 0.036), DISTANCE (t= 2.017, p= 0.026) and BODY (t= 3.336, p= 0.001). ANOVA showed that between relative values of motor abilities there is on general le vel a statistically important difference, F= 249.219, p= 0.000.On a partial level a sta tisti cally important difference was stated for variable BODY(t= 2.078, p = 0.023).
