Abstract

On a sample of 103 primary school students aged 13 and 14 years, as a prediction system variables, twelve variables are applied for the assessment of motor skills, while as criterion skills, three variables are applied from the gymnastics. The goal of this research was to determine a multiple and partial effect of the motor skills on the criterion variable of grades form gymnastics. The factor and regression analysis are applied in data processing. Using the factor analysis, we reduced the elements of gymnastics to the frist principal component, so that the three gymnastics elements performed are reduced down to one criterion variable, i.e. the general factor that represents gymnastics variables as a criterion, named gymnastics. Regression analysis showed statistically significant correlation between the motor skills on the assesment of gymnastics, where motor skills participate in the prediction of preformance of the given gymnastics elements with 36 %, while the remaining part of the variance of 63 % belongs to the other anthropological dimension and the unknown factors. The partial effect of the individual variables is reduced to four variables: running into a rectangle – the envelope test, tapping the foot against the wall and long jump.
